Concordia Social Club

Update 2/28/21

With the move to Phase 2 step 3 announced for March 1st the BOD has been in contact with the City of Lawrence, we are hoping to have a better idea next week as to a date for reopening. We will keep you posted, thanks for your continued support and look forward to seeing you all at the club in the near future, stay safe.

Update 12/3/20

The BOD held a meeting yesterday, and we are pleased to announce we have received a SBA loan of $10, 000.00.

This low interest loan should allow us to meet our financial obligations while struggling with the shutdown due to COVID-19. The board continues to work with the SBA , City of Lawrence, and State of Massachusetts, to see if there are any more funds available to us.

At this time we don't feel that selling the property is necessary, so we are canceling the meeting set for 12/17

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, please know that the Board is working to keep the club ready for the day we are permitted to open our doors.

Please check this site regularly for any updates.

If you haven't received any e-mails from us please send an e-mail to concordiasecretay@gmail.com and we will add you to our mailing list as this is the best way for us to contact our members if the need should arise.

Good Day Everyone

Due to the current state of our country our club has been closed since March. We did have an opportunity this summer to open for a few weeks but Governor Baker shut us down for the foreseeable future. As of today, we have enough funds to pay the general bills through the rest of this year. With that said, unless we open soon we are in jeopardy of having to close our doors for good. We have a few options we would like to present to the members of the club.

One, we would like to inquiry if we can get a loan off the land. We will not know if this an option before speaking with the bank. If this not an option, then our second choice would be to sell the land. This would be just the land only, not the building. If approved we could sell the land and use the money to keep the club open for as long as we need to get us through this pandemic.

If the members vote against option 1 and option 2 then there is a great chance we will not have enough funds to reopen when allowed. This means we would have to close up the business for good. We have exhausted every avenue to no avail. At this point we do not see any other options that would allow us to continue to serve the members of the Concordia Club.

We would like to host a Zoom meeting on Thursday December 17th at 7pm. We will provide the zoom link to all on our home web page - https://sites.google.com/site/concordiasocialclub . We ask that you make every effort to attend this meeting. At the end of the meeting, you will be able to vote on one of the following options:

1. Do nothing

2. If we qualify, apply for a loan through a bank

3. If we don’t qualify, sell the land

Thank You
